Scotland is listed as one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Yet, its much more than rugged mountains, lush valleys, scenic Lochs (lakes) and a breath-taking coastline.

 

My 1.800 km bike ride across some of the most stunning regions of Scotland (including Shetland and Orkney Islands) provided countless opportunities to learn more about this fascinating country, its far-reaching history and its rich and vibrant heritage.
